Integration of technologies and values: the development of students’ digital competence

Abstract

The article examines the need to integrate value-based components into the development of students’ digital competencies. The authors present the results of implementing a model of digital competencies in high school, with a focus on value orientations and the practical experience of applying this model within the framework of the Upgrade extracurricular club at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of natural sciences and mathematics in Ust-Kamenogorsk and rural supporting school Markakol Secondary School No. 1 in the East Kazakhstan region. The article also presents examples of three successful pedagogical strategies that confirm the effectiveness of a value-oriented approach in shaping digital citizenship: Teacher Self-Disclosure, Positive Reinforcement, and Career Talks.
