A major step forward: the impact of technical and vocational postsecondary education programmes on learners’ soft skills development

Abstract

Developing soft skills is an integral part of the learning process of modern students. The article emphasizes the importance of developing soft skills among technical and vocational education teachers as part of the study of the basic module “Application of basic knowledge of economics and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship”. Competencies as expected learning outcomes of the module have been analysed. The tools for assessing the level of soft skills formation used by teachers in their pedagogical practice are presented.
In the study, the author focuses on the formation of soft skills through project-based learning technology, the active involvement of students in extracurricular activities, and the creation of an educational environment that promotes the development of creativity, communication and cooperation.
