Abstract
The significant purpose is firstly to promote “theoretical and practical developmental research” of School-based curriculum study and Lesson Study (1st, 2nd and 3rd circles) through collaboration between the World Association of Lesson Studies (WALS) and the Japanese Society for Curriculum Studies (JSCS). Secondly, international teacher training should be developed using the research results, and effectiveness verification should be conducted. Thirdly, this research project will summarize the points of contact curriculum and lesson research by adding practical findings obtained from verifying the effectiveness of teacher training and further overseas survey research. In doing so, this study will focus on educational thought and practice of pragmatism (in the US, Germany and Asian countries) in the sense of overcoming the dichotomy of curriculum research and compare it with the relevant theory in Japan.
Finally, this developmental collaborative research project, in collaboration with WALS and JSCS, will lead to the formation of an international research network in related fields and the mutual improvement of teacher training. Furthermore, based on the above, the ultimate significance of this research is to build the foundation of a collaborative network of international contributions in pedagogy (educational methodology, curriculum studies, teacher education).
Finally, this developmental collaborative research project, in collaboration with WALS and JSCS, will lead to the formation of an international research network in related fields and the mutual improvement of teacher training. Furthermore, based on the above, the ultimate significance of this research is to build the foundation of a collaborative network of international contributions in pedagogy (educational methodology, curriculum studies, teacher education).
