Abstract

The article deals with the issues of communication skills formation and interaction between a teacher and students in the educational process at schools in Tajikistan. Particular attention is paid to the significance of pedagogical communication for the successful learning and personal development of students. The theoretical foundations of pedagogical communication are analysed, including the issues of the formation of soft skills among teachers and its influence on the educational process. Methods of teachers’ professional development aimed at improving their communication skills are described. Examples of successful application of these methods in general education institutions of Tajikistan are presented. The conclusion emphasises the need for an integrated approach to the formation of communication skills and interaction between teachers and students in the educational process.
